Families

Families are at the heart of the West Side community. From Baptism through Confirmation, at Sunday School and Youth Group, and at Adult Education classes, there are important lessons to learn and a community to join in fellowship at every age.

Baptism

The sacrament of baptism is the first step in a child’s journey with God. Babies are baptized at special services throughout the year, and the congregation is charged with helping to raise each child in God’s family.

Sunday School

Orange, our vibrant Sunday School strategy for preschool through 7th grade, combines the light of the church (yellow) with the heart of the family (red) to form a lifelong faith in Christ (orange). Each month has a theme—kindness, love—that is carried through with easy lessons to do at home. There’s even a parent app (Parent Cue) that you can use on the go! The result? Home + Church = Greater Impact.

Family Pray and Play

On Sundays this fall, from 1:00 to 2:00 pm, toddlers through Pre-K kids can enjoy supervised playground time, while children in kindergarten through 5th grade can ride their bikes or scooters together in the parking lot. Every get-together ends in prayer. Bring a mask!

Kids Club and Music

Children in K-8th grade are invited to participate in faith formation and music opportunities - outdoors - on Thursdays from 4:00 to 5:30 pm. Since our children aren't able to participate in choir this year, Mrs. Ho-Ho has wonderful things planned, including making music together!

Youth in grades 9-12 meet every Sunday from 7:00 to 8:00 pm - outdoors - for fun, faith formation and fellowship. It’s a great way to recharge before the start of the school week and to get to know other teens. Bring a chair and a mask!

Adult Small Groups

There are a number of small groups designed for adult fellowship and education. On the third Thursday of the month, the guys get together virtually for an evening of fellowship and meaningful conversation around a spiritual topic. And the women of West Side do the same on the first Friday of the month. Be sure to check the calendar for upcoming events.
