Children and Youth

Virtual learning, hybrid learning, canceled events and activities, missed opportunities, lack of social interaction. We get it. The pandemic has been tough on our kids. Which is why we're doing our best to provide safe opportunities for kids of all ages to get together, have fun and engage in faith formation.

Family Pray and Play

On Sundays this fall, from 1:00 to 2:00 pm, toddlers through Pre-K kids can enjoy supervised playground time, while children in kindergarten through 5th grade can ride their bikes or scooters together in the parking lot. Every get-together ends in prayer. Bring a mask!

Kids Club and Music

Children in K-8th grade are invited to participate in faith formation and music opportunities - outdoors - on Thursdays from 4:00 to 5:30 pm. Since our children aren't able to participate in choir this year, Mrs. Ho-Ho has wonderful things planned, including making music together!

High School Youth Group

Youth in grades 9-12 meet every Sunday from 7:00 to 8:00 pm - outdoors - for fun, faith formation and fellowship. It’s a great way to recharge before the start of the school week and to get to know other teens. Bring a chair and a mask!

Appalachia Service Project

Every year, high schoolers spend a week of their summer vacation in rural West Virginia, serving with Appalachia Service Project, a Christian ministry dedicated to making homes warmer, safer and drier for families in need in Central Appalachia, where nearly 40 percent of children live below the poverty line. For both the teens and their adult chaperones, ASP is a life-changing experience.

FOCUS Confirmation Class

Finding Ourselves in Christ through Unity and Service (FOCUS) is the 8th grade confirmation class. As a weekly commitment on Sundays from October through May, FOCUS is designed to help 8th graders explore their personal faith and prepare them to make the most important decision of their lives: to commit to Jesus as Lord and Savior and to enter fully into the life and membership of West Side.
